How is sea ice melt partitioned between vertical and lateral melt processes? What is the role of melt ponds and leads in ice melt in the new Arctic Ocean?
What are you most excited about the expedition?
I am excited about the opportunity to make detailed, year-long measurements of changes in the sea ice, specifically motivated by needs in the climate models.
