Tasks

I am a Principal Investigator studying sunlight and mass balance. My project will strive to improve the prediction of sea ice through a targeted study of poorly parameterized sea ice processes at MOSAiC, and also responsive model development.

Science Questions

How is solar radiation partitioned by the ice cover? What happens to heat in the ocean?

What are you most excited about the expedition?

A year on the ice. This is a chance to watch the whole movie and to observe and understand the annual cycle of the Arctic Ocean system. There will be challenges throughout the year. By working together we will overcome them.

What do you love most about the Arctic?

Walking on a frozen ocean under a midnight sun.
