I will establish BGC (biogeochemical) scientific priorities and coordinate with other teams in collective and complementary activities. Our project will help to quantify microbial controls on the annual cycle of methane and oxygen within the ultraoligotrophic Central Arctic during MOSAiC.
What are you most excited about the expedition?
The biggest challenge will be to meet the water and ice needs of all the science in MOSAiC.
What do you love most about the Arctic?
I am fascinated by the way the Arctic remains mysterious despite centuries of attempts by humans to occupy the Arctic.
